The English Channel

It's been forever and a day since I've posted an outfit post, I just want to apologize for that.
So let's not wait and get into this madness.

Baby Doll Dress-Forever 21
Black Blazer-H&M
Brown Over the Knee Socks
Black Bowler Hat-Ebay
Black Infinity Scarf-Urban Outfitters

I decided to wear an all black outfit today for who knows what reason. The irony behind the whole thing is that I wore it to church; talk about major witchy vibes. I never really wore this dress before because to say the least it was a little unflattering, but I worked it out by balancing it with a scarf and blazer.
By the way I don't know if you all know but I am a street teamer for Motel Rocks so check out their website and purchase something using the code word teenage_dirtnag for a stellar 20% off.
Here are a few pieces I'm loving from them right now (click the pictures to check out the link):

New York Fashion Week Street Style

Agh New York Fashion Week. Don't you jut feel like you took a trip to the spa when you say those words? NYFW should just be considered a holiday on the calendar. It's just as good as Christmas. Designers unveiling their sweet new collections as fashion lovers get a look at what's going to be hot this year. Although I am not lucky enough to be attending thing gran event I thought I'd share some images of some of the street style of those who partook at this event because although the runway may be showcasing some good looks the street also has a few independent designers itself. I mean it takes balls to piece together and outfit for NYFW.

(Margaret Zhang)
I live the grey on grey! The my hung of two different pints in the same color family is classic and an easy way to formulate a cute quick outfit. I'm dying over this coat by the way it's very Louis Vuitton S/S 2013.

(Bryan Boy)
I love how this outfit gives off the Matrix meets Fashion Week.

(Doutzen kroes)
The winter vibes that are coming off this outfit makes me want to play in the snow and I hate the snow so that means a lot.  I like how she paired it with boots to give it a tougher look.

(2 looks from Harpers Bazaar)
The first girls coat is stunning. I love the idea of a  military styles coat with length. As for the second girl. I have been having a fur obsession lately and that fact thy she has a fur coat on is rad. I really need to get one.

I wish I could see the whole outfit but since I can't ill just go just about what is seen. The leg necklace officially has a place in my heart. It's so cheeky and I live how it gives a non serious look to the it got. Also that sweater is very casual chic. He print is very cute.

Well now that I've grace you with a few street style pictures I'm glad to announce that I have been featured on the Independent Fashion Bloggers Links a la Mode!!!!
I seriously wouldn't have known if I hadn't looked at a message someone sent me. Thank you to my Clueless post and congrats to everyone else who was featured.

'As If' A Clueless Inspired Post Pt. 1

Other than aching to be the next Carrie Bradshaw there is another girl that I wouldn't mind swapping closets and a life with and that is Cher Horowitz. If you totally clueless on who Cher is then you've obviously been living in a cave for the past eighteen years. Clueless is a movie I adore for the fact that it's true nineties Beverly Hills teendom at it's finest. From the infamous two piece plaid pleated skirt blazer outfit to the over the knee socks and Mary Janes Clueless has to be one of the movies I can look back on for amazing fashion advice.

Let's take a look at the ensembles that made Clueless well Clueless:

Can I just say that I have never seen plaid worn so well? I mean yeah Kurt Cobain rocked a good few pieces of  plaid during his days, but the fact that they paired two plaids together to make a cohesive school girl looks makes me want to go out and a plaid two piece. Designer's such as Miu Miu, Vivienne Westwood and Ralph Lauren had some really amazing plaid pieces in some of their previous runway shows.

(Vivienne Westwood Fall 2006 RTW)

 Fall 2008 Ready-to-Wear
(Ralp Lauren Fall 2005 RTW)

Plaid, just more reasons to love fall.

Next we are going to look at the sheer top.

After seeing Cher rock a sweater vest over a sheer top I wanted to die. There was something about the sheer innocence that I loved. This is a trend that I've seen coming back, however I wish people brought it back more Clueless-esque if you get what I'm saying.

 Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear
(Yohji Yamamoto Spring 2011 RTW)

 Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear
(Michael Kors Spring 2011 RTW )

 Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear
(Roberto Cavali Spring 2011 RTW)

I feel like we are only knee deep into world of Clueless Fashion.
Now we are going to step into the world of another funky print that plaid a supporting role in this movie, Argyle.

This is one of my favorite looks in the movie. I love the equestrian look it givesw off and I'm sucker for socks; the higher the better I always say. Next to those few pieces the argyle sweater Cher wears in  this picture is absolutely amazing. It's simple chic and pulls the whole outfit together.

(Fendi 2013 Menswear)

(Pringle of Scotland Pre-Fall 2013)

Well that's all for this part of 'As If' A Clueless Inspired Post look out for the next part soon. We will be looking at more fashions that made Clueless.
